I am a scholar of writing studies, broadly defined. My doctorate is in technical communication and rhetoric, and within my program I focused on composition and writing program administration. My dissertation addresses issues in online writing instruction and teacher preparation. Additionally, my bachelor's and master's degrees emphasized creative nonfiction writing, and professionally I have worked as an editor of scholarly, literary, and technical writing. On top of that, I make a hobby of web design (you're looking at an example of my work right now).
I currently work as an adjunct professor of English at Brigham Young University–Idaho, BYU's teaching-focused sister school founded in 2001. I primarily teach Foundations of English 301, a junior-level required writing course.
